2. Data and purposes
The contact form processes your name, email and message to respond to enquiries, take steps before a contract or manage a professional relationship. Technical logs and first-party statistics may include IP address, browser, device, user agent, visited page, referrer, date and approximate country, region and city. Preview listens are recorded only after at least three seconds of playback. Human visits, crawlers and unclassified clients are distinguished. A pseudonymous visitor identifier helps estimate unique visitors; it is not used for advertising or cross-site profiling.
3. Legal bases and service providers
Website operation, security and proportionate audience measurement rely on legitimate interests. Correspondence may also rely on steps before a contract, contractual necessity or legal obligations. Data is handled by the operator and necessary hosting, email and technical providers. It is not sold or sent to advertising analytics services. Where available, approximate geolocation is obtained from a local GeoLite2 database from MaxMind. External music links and Apple preview delivery are governed by their providers’ own policies; those providers may receive your IP address when their media is requested. Transfers outside the EEA require applicable legal safeguards.
4. Cookies
Public browsing uses no advertising cookies. Necessary session cookies support contact-form security and administration. A trusted-device cookie is used only when the administrator explicitly chooses that option; it can last up to 365 days and can be revoked.
5. Retention
Detailed audience and preview-play records are normally retained for up to 180 days. Technical security and rate-limit records are retained only as needed. Enquiries are retained for the time necessary to manage correspondence and meet contractual or legal requirements. Trusted-device records expire within 365 days or earlier if revoked.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Consent can be withdrawn where it is the applicable basis. Contact escape@etcsounds.com; reasonable identity verification may be required. You may complain to a competent supervisory authority.
7. Security and changes
Restricted administration, hashed passwords, two-factor verification, secure sessions and parameterised database queries help protect data. No internet service is completely risk-free. The site does not knowingly collect children’s data or make solely automated decisions with significant legal effects. This policy may be updated; the date identifies the current version.
